Since ancient times, a single pencil and a blank sheet of paper have been the most powerful tools in the hands of an architect.

With lines, they transform fleeting spatial ideas into tangible forms. This is not merely a demonstration of technique, but an extension of thought a process of inquiry and discovery toward the unknown.

Sketching is never just about "drawing something for others to see," but rather about "drawing something to help ourselves think."

When we trace the curves of a street, the edge of a plaza, or the outline of a building on paper, every line carries a deeper meaning.

These seemingly simple strokes are in fact profound questions about the future of cities: What could our city become? And what should it become?

The pencil era was one that embraced imperfection.

Lines might wobble from an unsteady hand, and proportions might bend to intuition rather than precision. Yet it is exactly these imperfections that give space for imagination to roam freely.

Perhaps we no longer need to treat hand drawing and digital design as opposites, but instead see them as complementary forces.

In the early stages of design, let sketching lead us with freedom and instinct to explore endless possibilities. In later stages, let digital tools bring precision and efficiency to help realize those dreams.
